The Many Faces of Kenzie

This summer has absolutely flown by! It's crazy to think that Kenzie is almost a year and a half! Yikes! Since our last post, she's been doing great with no major issues aside from a week long earache--which could only be eased by her favorite movie, "Sophia the First." This little girl is probably Sophia's number one fan! ;) She's learning new things every day, and getting so big so fast! (Too fast for her mom and dad!) She's right on the verge of walking, but has yet to take those first few steps on her own. She loves loves loves dancing though--a trait gained from both her parents. :) She's still not saying too much aside from "Mamma, Dadda, and Ni-night," but we're working on it! Personality wise, she's definitely a social butterfly (a trait gained from her daddy) who will wave at anyone and everyone walking by, and ham it up whenever she gets the opportunity. She also has a little ornery side to her, which can be pretty entertaining.

We had an absolute blast taking her on her first vacation back in May to Hilton Head Island. She loved the ocean and wasn't scared one bit! She's definitely a beach bum, just like her mom! Such a sweet time together as a family! Since then, we've had a pretty low-key summer of a few trips to the zoo, baby poolin' it up in the back yard, and spending time with family and friends. She attended her first Columbus Clippers game and got a little face time on the jumbotron! Fun stuff!

In our last post, we mentioned how she was scheduled to have a CAT scan. Well, the results of the scan came back and showed that one of her arteries is in fact a little small and will need to be expanded. This will be accomplished through a heart catheterization in which they will insert a stent. The procedure was initially scheduled for this August, but based on conversations with her cath surgeon, we decided to postpone it until a later time. Basically, she'll have to have it done before her next big open heart surgery, which is probably within the next year and a half. I have to admit I was pretty relieved to have it postponed!

As I mentioned before, this little girl has personality like crazy, so here's a few photos of what can only be described as "the many faces of Kenzie!" :) And we definitely appreciate any and all continued prayers for our little miracle! She's quite a blessing!

We got to celebrate Kenzie's first b-day with not just one, but TWO awesome birthday parties with both sides of the family! Couldn't get any better! Here's a few pics! Oh and ps, Kenzie's last cardiology appointment went great. She's scheduled for a CAT scan here in a week to double check that everything is where it's supposed to be and growing properly. Ok on to the pics!
